Famous companies and their factories

We all heard the phrase that everything is made in China. But where exactly in China? If you ever wondered where the most famous factories are, this article is for you.

Let’s start with the multi-billion dollar clothing company Shein. If you’re into online shopping, you have heard about them. This fast-shopping e-commerce platform recently overtook Zara and H&M as a top-selling retailer. Ever wonder why shopping there is so cheap? Like most clothing companies Shein manufacturing is based overseas, to be more specific in China. But what part of the country is the most suitable for producing clothes? There is an exact place that accumulates hundreds of clothing markets and factories. The name of the city is Guangzhou. It’s located in the south of China in a province called Guangdong. Not only it’s a center of clothing manufacturing, it also has a beneficial location close to the sea and ports, which allows you to get your order fast.

Moving from textile to electronics. Foxconn is the world’s largest contract manufacturer of electronic devices. If you ever had Apple, Sony, Nintendo, Kindle, or Dell products, chances are they were manufactured in one of the twelve Foxconn factories in China. Even though it’s a Taiwanese company with its headquarters in Taiwan, most of its largest and oldest factories are located in mainland China. Foxconn's first manufacturing plant in China opened in Longhua district of Shenzhen city, in 1988. Shenzhen is the country’s electronics and innovation center located minutes from Hong Kong and international ports. The second biggest Foxconn factory with almost 120,000 workers is in Zhengzhou city, Henan province. This factory produces the bulk of Apple's iPhone line and is sometimes referred to as ''iPhone City".

Instead of producing in China and exporting worldwide, the next company opened their factory in China to produce to the local market. We are talking about Tesla and its third factory, which is located in Shanghai. While Gigafactory Shanghai was originally only supposed to produce vehicles for local demand, Tesla surprised itself with how fast it was able to ramp up production at the plant. The automaker achieved an annualized production capacity of 450,000 electric vehicles at Gigafactory Shanghai within two years of starting production at the new factory. It enabled Tesla to start exporting vehicles from the factory to other Asian countries.

The last company we are going to talk about is the Chinese-American technology company Lenovo. Products manufactured by the company include desktop computers, laptops, tablet computers, smartphones, and much more. Lenovo is the world's largest personal computer vendor by unit sales. The company was founded in Beijing in 1984, where it remains its headquarters. Even though Lenovo has suppliers and manufacturing sites all over the world, most of the production is happening in China. It is hard to specify just one region, because factories, research facilities, and suppliers are located all over the country, but the biggest factories are located in Wuhan, Kunshan, Shanghai and Shenzhen.

5 Key Benefits of Using Third-Party Quality Control for E-Commerce Businesses

Selling online has never been easier. Maintaining consistent product quality has never been harder.Unlike traditional retail, e-commerce businesses often ship products directly from overseas factories to fulfillment centers or customers without ever seeing the goods themselves. This creates a significant risk. A single quality issue can quickly turn into negative reviews, returns, account warnings, and lost sales. This is where third-party quality control becomes valuable. Rather than relying solely on supplier promises, independent inspections provide an objective assessment of the products before they leave the factory.
